Very happy with the panel and charge controller. The output is great. My only complaint would be the wiring came without the spade lugs that are needed to connect controller to battery. Frustrating when it’s a 50 mile round trip to civilization! I improvised, but it would’ve been easy and inexpensive for the manufacturer to have done this. I built a portable stand for mine. Am very happy. But my name is David not Andy. Review won’t let me write my name! 😛

This is my 2nd Grape Solar50 watt solar panel. It works good to re- charge my deep cell 12 volt batteries.

It’s been six months with no problems. The panel is sturdy, but the controller is pretty flimsy. When installing the wires on the controller, separate the strands of the wire into two bundles and twist before inserting under the screw terminal.

Purchased the panels to use with amateur radio. Have not set system up yet, so I can not say how well they work. The price for them sounded like a good deal.

It works. Washington state Fall rain brings about 12v and 0.1amps with no sun and drizzle. The highest I’ve seen it was 24.3 v and 2.4amps on a sunny, clear, August day in Washington state.

Got it delivered to the house, well packed in two boxes. The setup was as simple as can be, and all is working as expected. Specs are spot on, zero deviation.

Nice package with a controller integrated with the battery, load and panel.

This was my first experience with any type of solar products, and I was skeptical, and a little overwhelmed as I jumped into it. I bought the 50w off-grid pkg to install on my small hunting shack to charge and maintain a deep cycle marine battery. I am supplying electric to the shack, from the battery, through a 500w inverter. After shopping around I found the Grape kit to have decent reviews, and I was able to pick it up at my local Home Depot. I was surprised how big this 50w panel was (24″x26″) and it seemed to be made very well. Instructions were not excellent, but better than most. I only gave it 4 stars simply because there was not any mounting hardware. In my opinion, they should just make the kit $125 and include everything you need to set it up. Anyhow, after another trip back to HD, and an extra $30, I made a homemade adjustable bracket (pictured). After installing everything and setting the controller up (which was simple), I ran a small handheld vacuum to clean up the shack. My battery went from 100% down to 70% after running the vac for roughly 15m. Evening set in and the battery stayed at 70%. I checked it again first thing in the morning and the battery was at 68%, then the magic happened. The sun came up and after only 3 hours my battery was back to 100% and has been holding steady there for a week. This will be more than enough to charge and maintain a deep cycle battery for occasional electric use in my off-grid hunting shack. Also, during the install process I reached out to Grape for advice. Their customer service was top notch. Very quick response and they made several suggestions that helped me along the way. My first solar experience was a very good one and I am planning to install the same kit on my camper/trailer.
