Fairly large panel to mount permanent on my boat but quality seems good and has worked well so far 3 weeks in

I had ordered a different brand from a different supplier where the controller didn’t work. So I odered this one. I could tell immediatley it was better quality in not only the solar panel, but the controller was metal instead of plastic, and has an extra connection for a light. Although I found out of 2 I ordered, the solar panel LED indicator light doesn’t seem to work. However it does chaarge, and operate correctly otherwise.

So far this panel has worked well. It’s pretty solid connecting it to a soft ttop requires a bit of home ingenuity. I connected to a drained boat battery for a day or two and when I tested the systems everything turned over. So far so good.

I probably could have gone with a less than 50 Watt Panel but I am glad I chose this one. Works great for my need with an abundance of charging power. The regulator/ controller keeps my motor home engine battery fully charged with out overcharging.

Lost power when the battery died, hooked up new battery with same connections, unit fizzed, sizzled and started smoking. Connections were the exact same….

After reviewing several panels and determining that I needed one with the capability of being weather resistant, I decided to purchase the 20W SOLPERK Solar Panel Kit 20W 12V, Solar Battery Trickle Charger Maintainer.
Initially, I read various concerns about overcharging the battery were stated on other SOLPERK reviews, as well as some hardware issues, but as this one had no reviews at the time, I thought I would take the chance to use this panel to charge a 12V battery that I use to provide light to my stand-alone shed.
Installation was straightforward and aside from finding a way to thread the wire from the roof of my shed to the battery, there is nothing complicated about the installation. (I did create a bracket to prevent damaging the roof, and would recommend that approach to prevent inducing leaks on a shingled roof.) After set-up, I didn’t see a green light (indicating complete charge) on the battery indicator, but since I hadn’t charged the battery in a while, I thought I would give it time. I did monitor the output of the solar cell (roughly 14V depending on sun exposure) and noted that with no load, my battery was just about 12 volts. After a day, the voltage on the battery popped up to about 12.4V, but I still had a red light on the battery charge indicator. By day 3, the battery light was green and the battery was at full capacity. Testing a week later, I drained the battery a bit by leaving some lights on for about 1 hr (12 V LEDS). The battery charge light was red for a period of time and then went green again. The battery had maintained full charge.
At this point, I’ve had the panel connected to the battery for about 2 weeks and all seems well. Should I see the battery overcharge or diminish in capacity, I will update my review, but until that time comes, everything seems to be working well.

This panel is wired to an inground valve box containing the included charge controller, a gel cell 12v battery and a water pump. The system is providing irrigation water from the adjacent pond. I had to splice in 3 feet of red and black wire in order to make it long enough to reach the box. Other than wishing they offered an extension cable, the system was easy to install and appears to be working well.

A lot of people tend to undersize any solar charger, this is a nice size to ensure that even in partly cloudy days or indirect light that you still get adequate charge.

Just installed this week, so unsure the longevity, but the panel was putting out 23 volts on a cloudy day, so that’s a good sign. We bought two to power GTO automated gates on our farm. The original panels were 20 years old and needed replacement. We bought 30W panels, but found the batteries (deep cycle marine batteries) were not recharging sufficiently. We are now trying these 50s.
The product was well packed, and the hardware and fittings all look well made. The only issue I found was in the instructions, where on the right hand page, the brackets are installed on the panel upside down. On the left page, it correctly shows the brackets with the hing at the top. On the right page, the hinge would be on the bottom. This assumes the wires from the panel output should face downwards coming out of the housing. Otherwise they bend backwards hanging down.
A minor issue, but it did make me have to install the first set of brackets twice. Once corrected, installation was easy. The power control box handy and informative. Do read directions regarding the order that the connections are made. Note, I used the power controller with the panel, as opposed to hooking the panel directly to the gate’s power controller, as I was unsure the wattage the gate controller could manager.

I was sent this kit for testing and I have to say, for a 50watt panel setup, it does a lot of things. I charge up my allpowers 300watt solar power station as I am using it in the trailer and the bluetooth app is awesome, I can turn on the 12 volt fan via the app, the radio on and off via the app. I just keep the bluetooth on at all times and the idle consumption isn’t that much about 7%. The solar panel keeps it charged all day and I use the power station all day and all night.
