Description
Traditional solar panels are rigid and often enclosed in tempered glass. The Renogy 100W Flexible Solar Panel is anything but traditional. Perfect for marine use or placement on top of a van or vehicle, the Renogy 100W Lightweight Solar Panel is thin and capable of flexing up to 248 degrees. At 4 pounds, this flexible solar panel weighs only a quarter of its traditional 100W counterpart. Highly flexible, this lightweight panel can easily be installed on curved surfaces. This panel can also be used for other various applications, including providing power on a boat or teardrop trailer. Mounting Recommendation: Modules must be mounted using silicone structural adhesive on the backside of the panel, grommets are only to be used for non-mobile applications. For detailed installation methods, please consult a local contractor for guidance.

This 50 Watt Renogy Solar Panel works incredible. It is a lightweight flexible unit that can be mounted easily. It has two junction boxes attached to the front edge that measures about 1″ x 1″ x 3.25″ with wires already installed using MC4 weatherproof connectors. Another pair of these connectors will be needed in order to attach this panel to your charge controller and battery.
I have attached a picture of the label from the actual panel that gives all of the specifications. I initially tested it using a digital charge controller and my fully charged camper battery. The panel performed as specified, with over 20 open circuit volts, and easily brought my battery up 15.3 volts while charging in about 5 minutes. At that time the panel volts was at 15.8 volts. My controller registered 3 amps output. Realistically it was most likely at the rated 2.71 listed amps.
Like many solar panels, if it is shaded at all, the amp rating drops off substantially. Just putting a hand over it reduced the output by 2/3’s.
I am extremely satisfied with how this panel operates, and would definitely recommend it to others.

This is a high-quality 50 watt monocrystalline solar panel that is nicely assembled with tempered glass inside a durable aluminum frame and a thick layer of caulking to ensure waterproof. It comes with cabled wire MC4 connectors coming out of the IP65 junction box on the back for quick and easy hookup. The frame features drainage holes at each corner and is pre-drilled for various mounts as well as slots for z-brackets making installation on flat surfaces a breeze. The panel weights just under 9 pounds and is capable of putting out up to 20 volts and 3.4 amps. I confirmed the output with my multimeter outside on a sunny day and was able to get an output of 20.41 volts and 3.2 amps, so quite impressed such a compact panel. I plan to hinge two of these panels together to make a 100 watt suitcase system for my travel trailer, running 20 feet of cable wire with MC4 connectors to the existing charge controller, allowing the panels to be in the sun while our trailer is parked in the shade. I have other Renogy panels which are holding up great and still harvesting energy like day one, so I expect no less from this panel. It comes with a 1-year material & workmanship warranty and a 25-year output warranty, not sure if other solar panel manufacture stands behind their panels like Renogy, they are #1 in my opinion.

I installed the panels on the Bimini top of by boat and connected the panels to secondary batteries that run all of my accessories . Works great

Hi, I am making a cable with MC4 connectors on one end and the Anderson connector on the other to plug into a Dometic PLB40, should the cable have the male positive or the female positive to connect with the panel MC4’s? Thanks for the help!

Added 2 of these to the T-top of my boat to charge trolling motor batteries when I’m in remote locations with no power to charge the batteries. Works extremely well. Easy to install with adhesive. Towed boat at highway speeds with no issues for the panels.

We’ll made and versatile panel. I have a small trailer with limited roof space for panels. I placed this on the curved front end with a few cords. Stood up in 35 mph winds and worked perfect. Still not sure if my solar ready trailer’s controller will work with it (not damage battery) but it was fine for a few days while camping off grid.
