Rated 5 out of 5

After researching several of these type chargers, I settled on this one, and so far it seems to be a good choice. The large panel area means that the battery can charge quickly. In my rough tests, I was able to fully charge the battery from the solar panel is 5-6 hours, which is not bad at all. The built-in light on the battery pack is helpful at night as well. I got this primarily for situations where the electric power may be out at our house for a day or two. It’s cheap insurance to have a way to charge phones and run small USB devices.

I can’t speak to longevity but I took this on a remote 11 day camping trip and it preformed perfectly. I recommend to my brother who loses his power at least once a year. Nice basic prep or camping item.

This does what it says it will do. It may imply that you are directly using solar energy to charge your rechargeable item(s). That isn’t the case, but I think it makes it even more useable. The solar panel recharges the internal battery, and it does so kind of slowly. That allows you to charge your other devices whenever you want, even if it’s in the middle of the night. It can charge devices and charge the internal battery via the solar panel at the same time, but the internal battery will discharge more quickly than the solar panel can provide. This is definitely packed in my bug out bag.

So, solar is a little weak. Been sitting in my window for a month. Started at 3/4 charge. Still isn’t done charging, gets about 7 hours sunlight a day. Has lithium polymer battery according to the instructions for those of you who care about such things:-)

Appears well made, haven’t tested output yet but by quality of build I anticipate it will function as advertised.

It’s a nice piece of equipment to have if the SHTF happens.

Sure, I’ve got the solar radio, lights and batteries but it is comforting to have portable solar backup power for my communications and other usb equipped gear.
