So,Much higher solar energy conversion rate than PET solar panels. ETFE also has self-cleaning surface characteristics and IP67 dustproof waterproof and make the solar panel work under unexpected weather.
【Visualized Smart Charging 】Equipped with LED indicator ,allows to visually monitor the working status. when the red light is on in sunlight, the charge function is normal and you can charge your electronic devices. I’ve tested this out twice, both times in full sun attempting to charge an external charger. The first time it was out there for a few hours and didn’t change the number of lights on the charge level indicator. The second time it was there for slightly less time and it did increase the number of lights on the battery.
So it does seem to work. Because my visibility of the charge level of the external battery is so coarse, it very well could be that during my first test it went from “barely two lights” to “almost 3 lights” which, because of the size of this battery, would be a significant amount of charge.
It would be good to take along on outdoor excursions like camping or fishing. The size and rigidity doesn’t make it the most convenient thing to carry around, so it doesn’t seem like something I’d want to pack for a hike. It does come with two carabineers that can hook to the corners and be hung, but I’m not sure that changes how cumbersome it would be to carry around.

Got this for my husband who works on the road a lot. It charges quick and best part is he doesn’t have to use his truck to charge his phone anymore.

Loops for hanging seem like a weak point. I noticed it also won’t charge if too much of a panel is blocked. For example, it has 3 panels, if you cover a portion of one with just your hand (less than 50% of 1 panel) it completely cuts the output, enough that I couldn’t even draw 500ma from it. It works well if the whole thing is in sun, but too sensitive.

Not sure they all only of 1 watt of power instead of 20, but the one I got does only 1 watt.
Update: The seller reached out to me to resolve the problem. Result is they agreed it is defective and offered a replacement. Changed my rating from 2 stars to 4 stars. In actuality, I can’t give a true rating for a non-defective unit.

I was easily able to charge my phone in direct sunlight at a decent speed with this small panel. It works exactly as I would want it to!

The FlexSolar 30W Portable Solar Charger is a portable solar panel that can be transported easily from place to place. The panel is very light and measures 32″x12″ inches and when folded it measures 8″x12″ inches and just half inch thick.
Portable solar panels are a great choice when outdoors, since they absorb sunlight during the day and convert it into electrical energy. Of course you need a reliable source of energy for outdoor trips and events, and no all panels are created equal.
The FlexSolar 30W Portable Solar Charger comes with a Fast Charging QC3.0 USB-A port and DC Output. There is also a DC to USB-A cable included and two carabiner clips.
I could not get this panel to deliver more than 16.6W from any of the two available ports, while pointed at the sun on a sunny cool day. A similar, but 10″ smaller, solar panel rated a 20W was delivering up to 22W located in the same spot. The 20W solar panel do cost more than twice the price of the FlexSolar 30W solar panel.
Solar panel power delivery increases and decreases for many reasons…such as its position according to the angle of the sun, overcast skies, overheating, dust and dirt. Anything that gets between the panel and the sun will decrease its power delivery. I have found that power output from solar panels is related to temperature. During sunny winter days, when the temperature is lower, solar panel tend to output more power than on hot summer days.
By the way, if you position this solar panel hanging from your backpack, as shown in the posted pictures, you will get less than 8W…unless the sun is perpendicular (90° degrees) in relation to the solar panel.
The FlexSolar 30W Portable Solar Charger will be fine to charge devices that require 18W or less, such as phones and tablets when position in bright direct sun light. The solar panel is inexpensive and that translate into the quality of the solar cells and consequently the power it could output.
