I’m a vanlife and bought the 200w solar panel to charge my power station. First day I just set it up flat on my roof and was getting 90w which was surprising considering it’s late February in Wisconsin. Today I was able to set it up and direct it right to the sun. I’m getting 160w -170w. Again very surprising given our sun energy is low this time of year. Can’t wait to see what it does in summer time conditions. Great solar panel at a really great price. Might buy another.

I’ll preface my comments by establishing that I am not an electrical engineer, so my knowledge of this product is really that of a lay person. I had solar panels on a prior home and really liked them. There were sunny days when I would go outside to watch the meter running backwards – really tickled me to know that I was “selling” power to the utility company!
And I’ve used a solar charger to charge my car battery. It therefore wasn’t a huge jump to a 200 Watt portable panel set for me.
Why did I get this? Well, it’s because I live in an area prone to tropical storms and hurricanes. And when those roll through one of the first things lost is power. Now obviously 200 watts isn’t going to power much on its own, so my next purchase will be one or two power stations – and the plan would be to keep one of those charged using these panels while the other is being used to power essential appliances (think refrigerator, hot plate, etc. – fortunately no necessary medical devices yet!) The power bank I am considering can take 150 watts, so these panels would be just about perfect. Using 6 – 8 hours of sunshine I could charge that bank fully. I live in a multi-story complex where gasoline powered generators and stored gasoline are prohibited. But sunshine and batteries are perfectly permissible!
I appreciate the self-contained folding stands with these. Just unfold the panels, face them toward the sun, and plug in whatever you need to power or charge. These panels come with a variety of connectors (kept in a handy pouch attached to the panels) so for most people nothing else will be required to get started.
So the plan is to use the power of the sun (so far they haven’t figured out a way to charge us for that) to charge high capacity batteries, and then use that energy to keep things going until the utilities are reinstated. These panels could keep us sustained for days in an emergency. The sun inevitably rises each morning and with this we can turn free sunshine into cups of coffee, hot soup, sandwiches and scrambled eggs!
And when no longer needed these fold up quite compactly and are easily transported using the attached handle. If you live in an area prone to extended power outages, especially if you have special needs requiring electricity, such as a CPAP mask or oxygen generator, this sort of setup can be a life saver.

Definitely worth every penny! Accurate power output under good sunlight. Good quality, great expandability. Charges my power station 200W in roughly 3-4 hrs. You won’t be disappointed if this is a product that actually gets used for it’s intended purpose, because you know it’s going to last and out perform!

The product arrives and is looking beautiful! The solar panel is just what needed for outdoor battery sustainability. I have used other products before but none works like this. It is easily assembled and can be packed to travel with you to any places. I will definitely recommended to my friends and folks who like outdoor activities.

I do have a several other fold-up solar panels, but they are smaller and have less wattage. I do have fold-up solar panels with three panels, but this one has four large one. The price for this one is quite reasonable, given the fact that the capability of 200 watts is considerably higher than the smaller ones. When I opened up the box and checked out the panels, I was seriously impressed. It’s a foldup model with a water-resistant canvas cover made of polyester.
The panels can be daisy chained, but it probably needs to be with the same brand. This panel is all I would need so I probably won’t be adding another one. This is the type of solar panel setup that’s perfect for camping, car camping, in an RV, or for emergency use in one’s home. Solar is usually considered to be a backup method, however, I have a friend who does use it as a primary method of power. I wouldn’t (hopefully) have to use this as a primary power source, but backup is perfect.
Unless it’s really sunny out, these panels would likely take a very long time to charge. In my area of the country, the overcast skies make this a spring or summer set of panels. When I put panels like these outside to charge, I try to place them a 45° angle to maximize coverage. It’s actually quite easy to position these with the two adjustable support brackets. I’m enamored with anything solar, but have to be realistic as to how much power I can draw from it in my location.
Before folding up the panels, make sure you dust the panels off with a microfiber cloth because they can be scratched. I do love this type of solar panel, but I’m quite biased as I love them. As mentioned, the price is excellent at around $299 but make sure to check out the specs and be realistic about the capabilities of this type of solar. I do love it and will use it, but won’t be fully charging the panels for a while.
