This product’s 7watt fountain pump wasn’t as tall as the previous 12watt fountain pump purchase I returned. I needed to find a pump that would fit inside the frog on a wall cavity… this did. My concern was that I wasn’t sure if the 7watt fountain pump would perform as well as the electric plug in type I replaced… it performed perfectly.

Unfortunately I bought this in October 2023. I just got to set my wife’s garden up with the fountain. The pump is absolutely worthless! Nothing more than a trickle in full sunlight. I’ve changed filters. Purchased new unkinked hose and still don’t have a functioning pump! AVOID!! THIS PRODUCT!!

I configured this pump in a new small 5×5 outdoor water garden area. It is at the bottom of a 20 gal tub. The supplied tubing is roughly 1/4 in ID, which I am using to pull water out of the tub and into a fish spitter. The fish spitter feeds into an upper mini spillway which in turn flows back into the tub. So, overall the water is raised vertically about 2.5 ft with two “waterfall” effects. The fish spitter recommended a flow rate in the range of 100 GPH. I’ve been monitoring the performance for several days now over a variety of conditions. My review is based on the pump, solar panel, and supplied tubing. I have not used any of the spray fountain accessories for my intended application.
Daytime Use- Full sun: Operates very well. The flow is enough for the fish to spit about 3-4 inches. Overcast but bright: Operates very well. Not much impact to the flow if the sky is relatively bright but there is no direct sun. However, the spitter flow reach can be reduced to 1-3 inches. Heavy clouds with or without intermittent showers/rain: Acceptable operation. The flow might be 1-3 inches down to a decent dribble out of the spitter. We had a full day of intermittent rain/showers and the pump worked, if it was a dribble, for at least 80% of the day. So overall I’ve been relatively pleased with this purchase…for day time use.
Nighttime Use- Even with full sun day exposure, the pump has regularly shut off at dusk. This observation is in line with some of the other reviews. I had hoped the 3000 mAh battery backup would allow the pump to operate for up to a couple hours after dusk. (My solar lights can last well into the night on a 3000 mAh battery once fully charged.).
Pump/tubing- There is no flow control on the pump. The flow is perfect for my application, as described previously. The inlet side of the pump can easily pop off to reveal a small cleanable/reusable filter. The supplied tubing fit tight onto the pump outlet. The tubing (my rough measurement was 1/4 in ID) did not fit directly onto the fish spitter (3/8 in OD). So, I had to come up with an adapter. Solar panel/battery- The solar panel, pump, and battery are hardwired and cannot be disconnected. I’m guessing this configuration helps keep the electronics dry and outdoor friendly. The battery is imbedded to the back of the panel and is not accessible or replaceable. The panel came with a stake and was easily pushed into dirt. The angle of the panel can also be adjusted from 100% horizontal position to 100 % vertical. We get occasional hail in our area, so only time will tell how well the panel holds up.
Recommendations to the vendor/manufacturer: Things I was looking for or hoping for (without adding excessive cost) …adequate operation for a few hours at night, while we sit out on our patio, or alternatively a usb connection to the pump/panel to temporarily operate the pump at night using a stronger battery backup? …availability of black tubing? …availability of pump/panel without all the other fountain accessories? …information on winterizing the pump/panel?
In summary, for the price, this little pump was a good purchase. We didn’t have to install an outdoor electric outlet. And, almost immediately it attracted birds and chipmunks, let alone my husband! Once he saw it partially set up, he was out there helping me move the larger rocks next to our new 5×5 garden/pond. The sound of the little waterfalls is so relaxing!

When I opened the box I thought I bought it from wish . The pump is about the size of a cigarette pack and the solar panel is the size of a note book . But this little beast works great it’s a solid solar panel and wirering is water proof. The batteries last about 2 hours after sunset but that’s fine with me

The pump stops working the minute it’s out of sunlight. There is no back-up power to run the fountain, unlike other solar panels. The pump is only strong for surface water. If you have a two or three tiered fountain, it will not pump much water up to the top.

The description is nice, but not fully accurate. This is a solar powered pump with a battery, but that only “assists” during daylight. The battery DOES NOT function after dark. Though the seller believes it works for a few hours, in the included dock, the wording in the included instructions suggest it switches off when sunlight is not present.
I use solar power throughout my yard, with even smaller panels, and the batteries are charged all day, and function well into the night. I bought this to pump water in a little water barrel feature in my garden. It works nicely during the day, but if we sit on the patio in the evening, it’s off.
At this price point other devices do work after dark. None of the listed units in this price range will do what I was seeking. ( I would have to spend over $100 for a unit that stores enough battery power for several nightime hours. )
The operation time is MY specific need and not a “product defect”. If you are looking for a mainly daytime pump, this would be a reasonable purchase
The seller has been in touch with me about this review, and unlike most, has been very communicative and met their satisfaction guarantee statement. To be honest, this seller has provided one of the best experiences I have had on Amazon. I would not hesitate to work with them for future needs. I look forward to when the manufacturers produce an offering that will meet my “all day, into the night” needs, and if this seller carries such a product, they would be my first choice.

The instructions are just pictures so be well rested and in an adventurous mood when you open your box. There are no instructions or pictures on how to incorporate the tubing. I finally figured out only the bubbler will connect to the tubing. The pump doesnt receive enough juice to make the bubbler impressive. Until I find a way to attach the other nozzles I will be disappointed.

I made a small fountain for my front yard out of a couple planters and this works great. Different heads make it possible to dial in exactly how high you want the water to spurt. Would buy again.
