No manual is included with this panel, so it is unknown if it includes any battery management features. I tried to open the compartment on the back to see what circuitry might give a glue, but this compartment is glued shut (despite saying “Open” with an arrow). I suppose you can just plug in a battery and take your chances, but it would be nice for Soshine to provide a little guidance to their product.

I just got it today and so far so good. I only wanted it to run my usb fan and that it does. With limited sun it still spins slowly. I just put it in my car tipped to the windshield to see how much it will charge my Bluetooth speaker in a few hours. I like the small size and it’s rigid unlike my other little solar panel and will probably hold up better. Is it 6 watts I can’t say because it only takes a watt or so to start the fan. I will say this, with direct sun the fan is full speed. I haven’t tried to charge my phone so I can’t speak for that but like most solar panels, a little battery bank is better than direct connection just for the fact that when the panel isn’t getting good sun the phone stops charging and if your phone makes noise when being plugged in it’s annoying to constantly hear it. #Update Later in the day it still was still spinning in my backyard which gets morning sun only. Apparently if there is sunlight it spins. It was even spinning the fan in slight shade.

Got these to trickle charge some usb lights in the garage.
Even with little of no sun they keep the lights charged up.
Would def buy again.

I purchased this to keep a Meshtastic node powered. It also works well with just one panel as a charger for an iPhone!

All they do is overheat. They will power your equipment on for a SMALL period of time (less than 30mins tops) but a COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY!!! I tried positioning them in multiple different directions for days at a time to try to find the best location to absorb direct sunlight and catch a charge and nothing worked. I was only using it to power a small camera. I even linked them together and still nothing. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT!!!

I bought two of these. They come with the cables you need to daisy chain them together to cut your charging time by half. I plugged my phone into one right out of the box and it started charging in sunlight. At just 6w, these will charge a device rather slowly, so don’t expect too much. After 2 hours in the sun I had a 10% charge. With a second panel connected I doubled the amount of charge in the same time. You can also charge two devices at once with the two-panel setup. These are great to have on hand in case the power goes out and you need to keep a phone operational. No power is stored in the panels, so these cannot power lights at night. They are lightweight and thin enough to slip into a backpack for hiking and camping. Also good for teaching kids how solar energy works. A good reminder of how much energy is going to waste. At this price, I highly recommend picking up a pair to keep with your emergency or off-grid excursion kit.

I bought a solar patio security light several months ago. It worked well at first and then it stopped working. On testing I found that the separate solar panel that came with the patio light was not producing power anymore but the light unit is still in excellent shape. Instead of buying another patio light assembly costing around $40 I bought this SOSHINE solar panel instead for $13. On testing this solar panel actually produced 8 volts. This is higher than the 6 volts that this panel is rated for. I am not too concerned about the extra voltage as the lighting unit has a built in charge controller to protect the batteries. With a little adaptation I was able to mount this panel to the old solar panel bracket. So far I am happy with this purchase. Also, the product was delivered the next day after ordering.

This replaced a super pricey solar panel used to charge up a powered window shade.

I bought 2 of these as an option to keep my Ring stickup cameras charged. Bought additional 10’ cables with barrel connectors compatible with Ring ($11?) that seemed fit for the purpose. Plugged it in and it topped off the camera’s battery from 92% to 100% in an hour. Provided enough wattage that the camera thinks it’s plugged into hard power and prompted me if I want to switch from battery.
I tested it with my iPhone 13 and it provided enough power to charge it.
Overall I’d say that this product is an excellent option for the purpose as well as providing alternate charging for small devices such as small battery packs or phones for camping/off grid applications.
Only drawback over Ring’s $60 panel is that it doesn’t come with any type of mount. Easily fashioned though so…..5 stars overall.
