If you have a Wyze cam outdoor, you need to get one of these solar panels for it. I bought an off brand it sucked, so I thought the Wyze one might be the same. That couldn’t be farther from the truth, the first day in installed it my cam was at 54%, within the first few hours it went to 69% before the sun went down and the next day it finished charging the battery to 100%. I’m completely satisfied with this purchase. I didn’t give it 5 stars for tech support because I haven’t called for any. Also the Wyze solar panel is smaller than the off beans that I bought first.

Works great but subscription is needed. And it’s needed for each camera. So it does get pricey if u have more then 3 camera

Estoy contento con los productos y servicios de wyze.
Aunque el tema de garantías comprando fuera de los EU Es un tema a solucionar.

I will say I loved Wyze at one time. Apparently making all this other 💩 has a negative impact on cameras! They are just making anything and everything. Honestly did they even test WCO (Wyze Cam Outdoor) or get user feedback? Doubtful! I could get better use/function from a $100 Android phone. I was really hoping this would be as good as other cams I own. I own a V1 cam, Pan v1, and a V3 cam. I was impressed by v3 and thought let me go ahead & replace v1 w/ WCO. Mistake! I doubt Amazon driver tossing pkg onto ground broke it. The Starlight sensor is the best thing that has happened to cameras period. My garden looked like daytime because of the sidewalk light. Those lights were 50ft & 100 ft away. No need for IR/Night vision. I had to disable it because it looked worse on. I’ve never been a fan of B&W.
Sadly I needed a manual after charging. Guess what there is None! Just bunch disorganized crap forum posts under support! Base station refused pairing multiple times, even scanning. I had to manually type MAC address in to get app to pair it. Multiple upgrades to firmware which is fine, its a software dependent device.
Base station firmware update takes 3x longer than camera strangely. In 2 days I never could get clear answer on how to playback video. By the 2nd day I realized that I must setup a schedule for motion recording. This is normal and default in setting on all other cams! Not WCO. WTH? I mean really. They ruined excellent hardware with poor software! Makes no sense. I will say all my other cams are set to reboot daily. Yes that’s required because they all have problems with network stability past 24hrs. Click camera, select settings {gear} – schedule – setup reboot. Better and cheaper than smart plugs! (PS: Don’t use Wyze smart plug w/ WyzeCams as they are said to be even worse w/ connectivity. Using a reliable brand is option, but highly recommend schedule.)
Travel mode was nice option. It allows you to use system without internet. Sadly you must have internet access to setup camera. I never could figure out how to set the base station to wireless. Forum said tap ethernet and you can change it after initial setup…? There was also confusion about PIR Area. My guess is only part as in blue shown is eligible for PIR. App says manually move camera! The other confusion is detection zone. I had to tell support unless you changed how it operates they are wrong in explaining how it works. On all my other cameras the detection setting is to exclude things like wind objects or light/shadows triggering camera. I would feel extremely stupid if “support agent” was right. I ended up disabling it period because I am testing it. I’m glad nothing happened that I know of… Have a harassing neighbor that management refuses to do anything about…
I was able to manually record and live stream. I tried the siren and it was loud. That’s part of the camera features. I have enough problems & things to do without extra insane complications of this new product. I really don’t understand how it’s still being sold or at minimum not revised!?! There was absolutely no thought into anything other than cramming a battery into the product! Why the features & functions were split, moved, removed or changed around? Confusing customers can’t be good for profits…
I still have a hard time playing back short clips on other cameras that actually work! The GUI for all cams is Very Bright and No Dark option. I hate that for my home made security system especially at night. I also believe if feed is offline it should be black w/ white or color writing. Not gray w/ white text. I thought Wyze putting a pigtail (dongle?) on v3 cams was weird and inappropriate. That should’ve been a huge red flag.
I can’t say not having a micro usb VS usb c port is a good or bad thing.
The final straw was Amazon. I was forced into. Support ‘help’. Well the help was no help. They ended up setting up a return/refund. I’m not a tard & know how to do a return. Been w/ Amazon a really long time… If you gonna shove support in my face then make sure they know what the hell they are doing! I was never offered a suggestion or directions on how to playback recordings.
Ultimately the v3 or any variety plus a SD card is a better option than this “Outdoor”. Buy a damn case if you need something reliable outdoors. My pan has been in breezeway over a year without issue (using reboot schedule)…
PROS:
Night Vision via Starlight Sensor!
Battery and long life (2% use 2 days)
Compact
Supports “Normal” screw type mount (like pan series & most market cams)
No Subscription IF Using SD CARD AFAIK
Travel Mode? Interesting feature…
Power Cords included.
Base Station backup
Power Switch – storage I suppose?
CONS: ALLOT!
Power Switch!?! make sure it’s out of reach!
Base Station backup yes pro & con!
Magnetic base removed! (magnet inside stand)
Base is not “Flush”. (Sets off my OCD!)
Complicated
Requires 2 SD CARDS!
Different recording options depending on if sd card in base and or camera!
Kinda a lie about no worry if cam stolen. If you don’t “backup to base station” footage goes w/ cam! At least no re-use unless you remove cam from your acct!
Weird features/functions
Base Station is odd in design. Should I mount to wall power & ethernet hooks into top!?! THEN Camera charge cord from side? WTH!?!
Base Station has no magnet mount either!
Base Antennas are Huge & semi-fixed.

No esperen que lo cargue de 0 a 100%, lo que hará es mantener la carga, así que conéctenla cargada completamente y la mantendrá entre +-5%
Nota: necesita darle el sol de manera directa para que funcione.
Tomando esas consideraciones, funciona excelente.

Bought these cameras for security around home and we enjoy them and love them. We did have an issue with one that would not get color. All it did was show pink and no matter what we did to adjust. It wouldn’t get the color in. It worked OK but it wouldn’t hold a charge as long as the others as well so we called the company to get a replacement. It was a little monotonous to proved it. All we had was a pink screen, but we were able to get a reimbursement after a month of using it, they did reimburse us and we were able to purchase another. We still use this one. It’s just we have to get used to the idea of seeing everything in magenta color, which you can’t always see objects clearly because of it but it still works and serves the purpose. We use it in a less traffic area.

Très bonne résolution. La batterie tient bien sa charge malgré les froids québécois. Beaucoup options / paramètres. Bonne vision. ULTRA simple à installer

I have this mounted at the end of a roof in upstate NY and it has charged the camera from 10% to 85% in 10 days. It has an unobstructed view of the sky above. However lots of trees and rest of roof block sunrise and sunset direct sunlight. I have only seen it drop by a percentage over night once. Camera is located at a door where dog goes in and out several times a day so it gets activated often. It is one wall and 30 feet from the base station. Curious to see how it holds up as it’s exposed to weather where it is, and see how it charges in the grey winter months. My advice, carefully install, do not touch the solar panel face. It’s packaged carefully with foam, treat it like a thin glass mirror.

I quite like my Wyze series three cameras and the app on my iPhone, so I bought two of these to mount in remote locations in my yard.
They behave differently than their most popular cameras. I still haven’t figured out how to set them up and leave them as I do with their externally powered cameras. They don’t automatically record on motion. You can program them from the app to do that for a period of time, up to a month, but not indefinitely. I also purchased the solar panels, and here in Southern Arizona the batteries are kept full charged, indefinitely, so why can’t they record indefinitely? They have this intermediate receiver unit that has to be indoors, plugged into a wall, but close enough to the camera to communicate with it which puts limitations on their flexibility of use. Both the camera and base station have memory card slots. I have both cameras using one base station. The base station then propagates video data to the hub (I think). I can find no good documentation from Wyze in how these work, so I can better understand how to use them. They operate inside the app that gives an intuitive window into the the conventional cameras, motion and door sensors, but the application behavior with them is quite different and not intuitive to me. It feels like these were poorly integrated into the app, but that maybe because I really don’t understand what they are doing. I inserted sd memory cards into both cameras and base station, but have no idea what’s being recorded and where.
A bit disappointing.
