Great asset to our camping adventures. We store them in a duffle bag.

I’ll come back to review when I get it hooked up to let you know the performance

I researched this solar panel a lot before I committed to buying it. I was skeptical of some of the claims that it would supply more that it was rated for. However, I have seen a few times that the output (watts) was over 200 which the panel is rated at. It also puts out at least 20 watts on a completely heavily overcast day, wow!
Unfortunately, the price is a negative sticking point. I was able to get the panel for a small discount so it makes the purchase somewhat bearable. If they can get the price competitive with other panels they will make a fortune.

The chewing gum was used as an adhesive, and strong winds easily lifted the entire piece off, breaking the connecting wire and shattering the rear window glass. Then the seller went back and forth and said it was refunded but never received a refund. Finally, the seller sent a message every day saying that he asked me to find the missing and damaged part that was blown away by the wind. The essence is just a plan to waste my time.

I was a little apprehensive about these panels and all soft solar panels at first. We placed these on our yacht bimini. We attached it with screw in neodymium rubber coated magnets about 2″ wide. One magnet screwed into the panel the other on the inside of the bimini. It holds very well we have traveled about 4000 NM threw countless storms. We installed them in the north east coast. At first I was very disappointed but in winter in the north east there is not to much sun. We have 4 panels and saw on average 200-300 watts. We traveled south down to Florida and bahamas and on average 600 watts. We are very impressed even on a cloudy day it’s the same. They are continuing to work great.

I saw a video about these solar panels and had to get a couple. They can take a lot of abuse (watch the Hobotech YouTube review), are lite weight so they make great portable solar panels for camping or boondocking. They are expensive and I only bought 2 but, I consider it in the long run – spreading the cost over time. They have a good chance of lasting 10 years (minimum) so the cost, per year, is only one tenth of the total price. Really, solar panels, if you have a purpose, are a better investment than gold. The panels with the holes only weigh 6 pounds, a kilowatt (5 – 200-watt panels) of these panels would weigh 30 pounds – very portable. I just lay mine out on the ground to charge my solar generator.

I have the 200 watt panel. I don’t have it mounted. I just drop it on the ground and plug it in. I get plenty of wattage even on a cloudy day!

They out-produce my old panels, and put out much closer to the rated output. My old cheap chinese panels were supposed to be 100 watts each, and I was only getting 21 watts each out of them. These are 200 watts each and I am getting 150-175 in fall weather in New England. When spring comes, I expect them to get very close to rated power. I installed them on top of the sunbrella canvas bimini on my sailboat with rare earth magnets. I bolted 8 magnets to the grommets on the panels, laid them on top of the bimini, and went underneath and put a second magnet below at each of the 8 locations. Has held great in winds up to 35 mph so far worked great!
