This was my first solar panel installation on a Ford transit camper van conversion. This is a large solar panel that fitted across the roof of the transit leaving about 3 -4 inches on each side. I had to buy a cable roof entry box separately and it would help to have that option on the advert. The Z brackets worked well once I had figured out the correct positions, drilled the holes and bolted them. I added to the supplied bolts with rubber washers and locking nuts. And plenty of sealant around the bolts. The EcoWorthy controller was easy to setup and seems to be working well. Overall it seems a very good product and easy to install.

Its a pretty idiot proof install and appears to work well.
Things I liked: Red positive cable Black neg, (not all import solar kits bother with the red cable) and male and female connectors so you can only connect it correctly. Sufficient wire for my install, I had several feet left but I did mount mine right next to the refer vent, which is right above my deep cell battery so it was a straight shot. No plans or directions other than with the charge controller but pretty self explanatory, if you can replace your own car battery you can do this. I didn’t bother with measuring voltage/amps etc but I did run the tv and lights for a couple hours, ran the water pump a few times two, much like I would camping normally. Left the camper for the day with about a 3/4 charge on the battery indicator. Returned at five pm to find the battery fully charged, on a rainy, partly cloudy day in April. Not to bad for a flat mount, partly shaded area.
Stuff that was Meh: I didn’t trust the bolts on the Z mounts without lock washers so I added a self tapping screw to each mount on the frame, also to the roof top. Lots of rubberized White Roof topper calked on before and after I screwed it to the roof, both for water proofing and to keep it glued down at 70 mph. Charge controller is pretty minimal and cheap looking. I may replace it in the future but it appears to work and tracks the batteries charge but only gives a indicator for what the solar panel is doing. Be sure to attach the battery first, then the solar panel and load or the controller may fry according to the directions.

Panel works great even in cloudy conditions, all connectors are great, but the charge controller is a piece. It is really hard to get the right gauge wire into the tiny slots. I think the controller drains a significant amount of juice too. The panel alone sells for about $100 so it may be more economical to just get your panels and a better charge controller separately.

The inverter was supposed to be plug and play. It worked great for 1 day charging the batteries on a cloudy day. Next day it was no longer charging. Called Tech support and they told me to change the parameters which they supplied me with. That didn’t work. I called again and had to leave a message. Did not get a response. Sent emails directly to support person but got no response. In my email I explained how the cooling fans were not working. The unit is broken. Have tried many times to get an answer from the US branch. Customer Service is non existent. Would not recommend this company/product to anyone.

It is a nice system and DC House shipped it quickly and safely. The controller has a nice LCD display, which seems to be better than the controller of competing systems that do not have the display. The only glitch was that the title description claims that the system comes with 30 ft. cable. Turns out the red and black cables are about 15 ft. each for a combined 30 ft. length. That is just not long enough for me. As a result I have to buy additional cables for my installation. I could have bought 10 gauge primary wires but they weren’t any cheaper than the solar cables. Bought a pair of MC4 solar extension cables at Amazon, then found out that the shipper is in China and that it will take a while for the item to arrive. Good thing I found out before it was shipped. Cancelled the order and bought another set of extension cables from DC House instead. It arrived in a few days. Price is slightly higher because the cables are longer, but I needed the cable as soon as possible to install the system. Works fine once I installed it. .

This was my intro into solar power. System works great. Have instaled in my off grid cabin. Im useimg an agm deep cycle rv battery with the kit. I currently have a 1000w power inverter, 30in led tv, dvd player, and 4 33ft led ligt strips, car radio, multiple speakers, and a sea flow water pump all wired up. I wouldn’t hesitate to run all of them during peak day light hours. Ive watched 4 movies in a row with dimmed lighting and used very little power. Would highly recomend. The controler can handle an aditional 2 100w pannels aswell.

Purchased this kit in March of 2023 and first inverter blew, they did replace it after about 2 weeks of emailing back and forth. Then a panel blew, that replacement was much smoother. As far as adding on the system it has been a headache. They have changed their battery design 3 times since my original purchase date 🤦🏻♀️ so while all my batteries are the same manufacturer and size no 2 look the same and make storage a NIGHTMARE.

Use it to power a small off premise garage. Mostly automatic door opener and a couple of lights. It was easy to install. Works quite well but if I did power more then I would need at least 2 panels. That would be due to shortened cloudy winter days. Lake effect and stays cloud for a few days in a row. Still the panel produces. I did have problems with charge controller after about 2 weeks. DC House responded quickly replaced it without hassle. But I did do some testing with a volt/ohm meter to be sure it was only the controller at their request. It was really no problem.
