Description
- Compact and Reliable – The 100W 12V Monocrystalline solar panel delivers a stable output of an average 500Wh of electricity per day (depending on sun availability). With its compact solar cell arrangement, this renogy 100w solar panel weighs only 14.1 lbs and is 8-10% lighter and smaller than conventional rigid solar panels.
- Superior Quality and Material – All Renogy solar panels are made from 100% EL-tested Grade A+ solar cells to provide the highest power conversion efficiency and prolonged lifespan. This 100 watt solar panel is also equipped with PERC cells to deliver an excellent cell efficiency of 22%.
- Advanced Solar Cell Tech and Panel Structure – Renogy solar panels adapted the newest 9 Bus-bars cell tech and Half-cell structure, allowing the full-size solar cell to be cut in half and closely arranged for space usage maximization. Increase the cell receiving surface while reducing current and resistance loss with a thinner ribbon design.
- Built to Last – This all-weather monocrystalline solar panel can handle snow, rain, and heat for decades with IP65 protection. Renogy uses low iron-tempered glass and corrosion-resistant aluminum frames with polyamide corner support to ensure this panel solar can perform and withstand all weather conditions.
- Fast and Easy Installation – 20 pre-drilled holes on the back of the solar panels 100w allow for quick mounting, which is ideal for off-grid applications and are directly compatible with Renogy ground mounts, Z Brackets, Corner Brackets, Pole Mounts, and Tilt Mounts.
- Proven Durable Quality – 10-Year Workmanship Warranty. Over 80% Output at 25 Years.

Ok, so, I got 2 of these besides the one I bought initially from February of 2017. And they are great, or, at least one of them is because I had to get a pair of MC4 solar panel connectors because these don’t come with them from the factory, which is one thing I didn’t like. The idea that they didn’t come with a MC4 connector (for those wondering what a MC4 connector is, you can easily find what they look like online), yeah, that’s great if your only using these with a charge controller where you only need to jam the wires into the bottom of it. Which, the idea of the lack of the connectors themselves is a problem, especially if you either don’t have the tools necessary or are not mechanically inclined/gifted like some are or don’t know what your doing.

I’ve purchased 8 of these. Connected to a HQST 40A MPPT controller, I average around 550 watt hours per panel per day (exceeding advertised 500 watt hours per day) or around 4.4kwhr for 8 panels a day with a mid day peak of 690-700ish watts. This is with some unfortunate shading in the morning but I do live in a region pretty ideal for solar. Only downside is that I don’t get the 100+ watts some people are claiming. I peak around 85 watts per panel for maybe an hour a day. These have MC4 connectors which are fairly universal and work with most modern lifepo4 ‘battery bank’ or ‘solar generators’. These work as you’d expect, if you need a lot of power you’ll need to buy a lot of these. A fridge will use 1-2 kwhrs a day, at 550 watt hours each you’ll need at least four of them to keep a fridge powered indefinitely. That said, it’s nice to not have to worry about extended power outages. I can generate enough power to power a 400 watt 5000 btu window air conditioner for 10+ hours a day and keep a large battery bank fully charged for emergency use. That said, there are some cheaper 100 watt panels on amazon from HQST and other brands. I plan on giving those a try.

I use these panels at an off-grid information station on the Pacific Crest Trail. We installed two panels this last August. We needed to add a few new panels this year. I went back to my August order and ordered three more panels using the “order again” feature.
We received our new panels and took them up to install. When we got them out of the boxes and up on the roof we discovered the panel size had changed since our August order. The new panels were ordered using the same link on Amazon, but were shorter and a bit wider than those shipped to us last August (see attached picture). This was EXTREMELY frustrating, as the rails were set to the length of the earlier panels, and had to be moved to accommodate these new panels.
So if you are adding these to earlier installed panels, be aware of this change is size of the panels sold on Amazon. If you order again from your earlier order, you will not be getting the same panel size.

I’ve bought these panels 2-3 times before. As a new user, I don’t want to buy too much of a product without trying it out on a small scale. I’m currently installing 4 of these panels on my camper and wanted to add another 2. Simply clicked “buy again”, thinking I would get the same panels. These latest panels are wider and shorter than the previous ones. I’m using Renogy adhesive panel mounts and was trying to mount all 6 panels so I could replace one if one dies. But now I need to space the 2 new panel adhesive mounts to fit a different size. I understand that Renogy may change to improve products or reduce price, but changing the dimensions and keeping the same part number is not helpful to me. If I end up replacing a non-functioning panel, I will need to replace the permanently bonded mounting frame to fit the replacement panel size.

These ended up being $10 each more than the other brand I bought. I don’t think these were discounted when I purchased the other brand though. I wished I could have bought these instead of those for the little bit of a price difference after the discount. These came to me in immaculate condition and frames are built much better and stronger. The other brand I purchased, a few came warped and others had banged up corners on the framing. As far as performance though these seem to be similar but only time will tell.

Was kinda surprised when they actually made over 100w each for a few minutes each day.
Have them on a homemade gimbal that points them toward the sun throughout the day.
This way, they make over 1.0kWh / day each on most sunny days.
Have some supposed 320w ones from same company that never get much over 250w no matter what.
Thinking about buying more of these.

We bought our first two in 2018 and an additional two in 2021. The newer ones are slightly smaller than the older ones. We have an EcoFlow Delta running our garage refrigerator with these since January 2022. We keep them on our pergola and they get sun most of the day. They are outside 24/7 and can survive the heat and cold (unlike the more expensive EcoFlow version we bought).
We just ordered the EcoFlow heat pump (air conditioner) so we ordered more solar panels to power that. We’re in Southern California with the highest electric rates in the country, and this set up will save on our electricity bill. These are budget priced solar panels that are not budget quality.

This panel was bought to replace one that took an impact.
The “broken” panel, made with safety glass adhered to the surface, still produces reasonable voltage even though the panel is shattered and initially seemed as though it may not work. Months later, after many rain storms, and additional “oops'” it produces about 80% of what the others do. I’m now comfortable knowing a tree limb will not disable my electricity.
