Ho acquistato questa fontana non tanto per una questione di “estetica”, ma perchè avevo bisogno, per un vaso contenente una pianta un po’ particolare (una Darlingtonia Californica), di creare una sorta di “ruscello” che tenesse il più fresco possibile il substrato. Ho quindi messo la pompa sul fondo di un contenitore, coibentato, contenente l’acqua che avrebbe dovuto scorrere, e ho collegato anzichè le gittate “artistiche” il cavo di gomma cava in dotazione. Pur immersa praticamente per tutta l’estate, ha svolto egregiamente il suo lavoro, creando quindi quel flusso d’acqua che mi serviva per tenere più fresca possibile la pianta che soffre il caldo eccessivo ma non può nemmeno stare in casa. Risultato, la pianta è sopravvissuta benissimo all’estate – ovviamente calda – 2023 e la pompetta funziona ancora, segno quindi che nonostante l’utilizzo intensivo sembra essere di buona qualità.
Come detto anche in altre recensioni, il funzionamento ottimale è in pieno sole, soprattutto estivo (ad esempio ora che scrivo, a novembre, fa molta più fatica a funzionare; ma per il mio utilizzo non è un problema), se è nuvoloso la pompetta smette di funzionare…probabilmente con un pannello un po’ più grande si risolverebbe il problema, ma ovviamente ne deve anche valere la pena dal punto di vista del costo.

Not sure if I got a bad pump or what since the reviews for this particular pump are good, but I bought this fountain in mid-July of last year (2022) to use for a hummingbird fountain. I assembled my fountain and had it in use from the end of July to the beginning of September (about 2 months) and it worked great. Before it could start freezing out, I drained the pump, cleaned it (full disassembly), and brought it inside for the winter. I brought it out and set it back up again at the beginning of April of this year (2023) and it was working great until earlier this week (less than a month), when it stopped working almost entirely, with the solar panel in full, very bright sun (upper 60’s & clear skies). I completely disassembled the pump to clean it, but found nothing blocking/stopping the impeller and while the impeller wasn’t spinning, it was occasionally “flinching” so the motor is getting power. Even though the solar panel looked clean, I wiped it off with a damp towel to see if that would improve solve the problem. It didn’t. The pump & its solar panel have never been run dry, roughly treated, frozen, had the power cord kinked/damaged, or even been plugged up with debris…it just quit working for no reason.

This little solar pump is almost too powerful! I wanted to use it in a birdbath, but no matter which top I use on it, if there is full sun, the water sprays sooo high and out that it overshoots the large enamel wash pan I used it in. 15″ diameter. I found a work-around but blocking part of the big solar panel or keeping it in less direct bright sun.
If you put this in a small shallow pond, it will probably be just right.

This is robust and works well. Very good value and would be a 5 star rating if the energy panel had a stand. It needs to be balanced and moved as the sun moves round

Wir hatten zuvor einen Springbrunnen, der auf der Wasseroberfläche schwimmt und wo die Solaranlage direkt damit drauf ist. Ich fand es aber immer sehr nervig, dass er auch zum Rand schwimmt und dann das Wasser aus der Bütt befördert. Hier finde ich die Lösung super, dass es ein fester Einbau ist. Und auch, dass das Solarpanel beliebig positioniert werden kann. Funktioniert auch bei wenig Lichteinfall. Auch verschiedene Sprühköpfe mit in der Lieferung, die wirklich schön sprühen.

Dudaba si cómprarme una solar o eléctrica, pero he acertado. La fuente viene con varios cabezales para que uses el que más te guste. Se instala muy fácil, en menos de 15 minutos la tienes colocada. En mi caso la utilice para hacer una fuente con un plato de maceta y unas cuantas piedras blancas como se ve en la imagen. Empieza a funcionar en cuanto le da un momento el sol. Me gusta mucho como funciona sin duda la recomiendo.

My neighbors compliment it constantly- it’s the perfect finishing touch to our landscape. Its been attracting all sorts of different birds.
Set up was very straightforward! Came with everything necessary. The difference spray settings are easy to interchange~ it’s nice to have back up when every so often we have to clean them out for optimal performance.
The sun gives it plenty of power-lbecause it can operate 24 hours a day nonstop.
It’s been on for almost 3 months and still works like new- amazing price for such an awesome gadget.

I didn’t realize this was the same one I bought last time. It lasted about 6-7 months last time I bought it, which isn’t terrible for the price. My biggest issue is the ad clearly says their solar panel will work “even with a leaf on it” compared to other brands and this is simply not true. The moment any tiny shadow is on the solar panel, even in direct bright sunlight, if a tiny corner or anything is covered it stops working entirely. I’m already finding myself moving the panel constantly to keep it in the sun so I can enjoy the sound of running water. I decided to just return it for one with a battery back up since it’s only a few dollars more and they’re built to last longer and just work better all around.
The pump/suction works well but these are not built to last. My last one worked for quite a while, but it very obviously wasn’t putting out the same amount of power after only about a month, even with cleaning it often.

This was great for my bird bath. Plenty of water and sun in Las Vegas, NV but yesterday it quit May 22, 2023 which I bought in April of this year. I cleaned it but it was already pretty clean, so no obstruction, the motor just quit…so disappointed…Update!!! the day after I posted this review the pump started to work….so will have to monitor it….ok here it is a week later and it runs then shuts off…plenty of sun here and where I have it, took apart a second time no debris put it back together and still not working… will have to look at an alternate

It worked great the first couple of days. Second full day totally quit working. Very disappointed because I put a lot of work into making my water fountain. Won’t purchase again!

I know some have written less than positive reviews. I guess I have been blessed with a good pump. I had previously purchased this pump a couple of years ago. Held up to I would say heavy use. Decided to get a new one and chose this one again. I have actually had great success with it. Has pumping power that I would expect and runs well. It does state that it needs to have full sun for optimum operation. Well, yesterday had stormy weather, rain expected. I went out on the deck and that little pump was still bubbling even with complete cloud cover. Then rain came, still kept bubbling. (attaching photos/video). Although not full power pumping, the little bubbling was quite nice. I’m ordering another one for a different area and would recommend this one for a great little garden/bird bath addition.

Works great and the birds love the sound of the fountain and attracts so many to my deck where I have it. The only thing I don’t like is that it ONLY works when the sun is out, which I knew when I bought it, so just so you know, it doesn’t store the power anywhere or anything and only works when the sun is out.
