the controller does not send power to charge the battery. I hooked it up according to the directions and when i checked it on a multimeter there no power comming in very disappointed.

Bought one of these to keep a Sprinter van battery topped up when we are traveling in other vehicle. The Sprinter only takes 2-3 weeks to have difficulty firing up, so we stay on top of it and drive it regularly when we’re around. The trickle charger was very easy to install with the O-Ring wiring, except for the ridiculous clamps used by M-B on the battery posts. Took me an hour to wrestle the things loose, then find a suitable replacement nuts. But that’s not the fault of this product. On the plus side, because the battery on a Sprinter is under the driver’s side floor mat INSIDE the vehicle, it’s really convenient to use the O-Rings and leave the connector cable permanently installed.
Overall the solar panel works great in the desert SW where we live. However, the product loses a point because the LEDs that indicate active charging (red) and full charge (green) are pretty much worthless. The red charging light comes on even when the unit isn’t connected to anything, and the full charge never comes on at all, except sometimes when the unit isn’t connected (same as red). I’ve basically just ignored them and trusted that as long as the unit is connected, there’s charge going to the battery. Which ultimately is all I care about.
I like it just enough that I ordered a second one to put on a Jeep we recently acquired.

This small solar trickle charger is perfect. It is well built and easy to assemble and connect to the battery.
I keep my generator in a very small dog house style enclosure, it makes pulling the cord starter very difficult. This solar charger revived my 10+ years old battery so I can start it easily now with the key. It charges quickly enough on a sunny day, and the panel is light and easy to place for the best sun exposure. The wires provided with the kit are long enough.
My next step is to get a new battery and connect the solar charger to it so I never worry about a discharged battery when I need my generator.

I bought this solar trickle charger to keep the battery in my son’s pickup truck charged up between uses. He keeps the truck stored for months at a time at an outdoor location and in the past he’s always disconnected the battery during long-term storage. Peace of mind knowing that when he returns to his truck the battery will be charged and ready to go, and better for the life of the battery to keep it fully charged all the time. The charger is simple to disconnect and store between uses. We lean the solar panel against the windshield and don’t use mounting bracket that comes with the unit for standing it up on its own or mounting it to some stationary object, but it’s nice to have all that if your use calls for it. The mounting bracket seems pretty heavy-duty and also can serve as a stand to have the solar panel stand on its own if you don’t want to mount it permanently to something. It also comes with two different options for attaching it to your battery — alligator clips, or O-rings that you can attach to your battery’s terminal post hardware. It has all the visual indicators needed to let you know that it’s charging and getting sufficient sunlight to produce a charge.

他サイトで注文した20Wソーラーパネル、届いて開封すると、パネルサイズが非常に小さい。
端子間開放時と短絡時の電圧・電流を調べると、発電量は10Wにも満たない品物でした。
これは返品し、急遽、この商品をアマゾンに発注したら、中1日で届きました。
試験日は午前中は晴れていましたが、お昼を回った頃から薄雲が広がっていました。
それでもパネルの発電と、チャージコントローラーを介しての充電は確認できました。
今後、パネルはフロントガラスの内側に置き、バッテリークリップは汎用２極端子に替え、ヒューズボックス内の常時バッテリーに接続されているところに接続する予定です。
こうすれば、全てが車内に置かれるため、雨天時でも問題ありません。
私が所有する他の2台もすべてこのようにして、補充電をしています。

I have used a lot of battery maintainers, both the 110-volt plug-in type and the inexpensive small solar ones. This unit is sturdier, and comes with a controller so you can actually see what it’s doing. Well packed, exactly as advertised, and 20W is a hefty charger which the controller regulates to avoid over-charging. Seller did a great job with this product — an excellent value, delivered on time! If you have a car, boat or motorcycle that really needs to be able to start whenever you want it to, this is the unit to get. Recommended!
