The controller would not work at all. Contacted Solperk and they were no help. Sent it back, went to Canadian Tire, bought a Coleman solar panel kit and it works perfectly.

Works great

Ok, first things first. This, or any other 10W panel, WILL NOT recharge your big dead battery. For that choose something bigger, like at least 30W. What it does do is keep your battery from discharging over time in a vehicle you don’t use often. Just like the description and instructions say!
It’s super simple to hook up but if you have a question like I did, tech support replies within hours.
Great little unit. Would definitely buy a sefond one of I had another vehicle that’s parked a lot.

I bought it this April because of could in case of a power outage, I finally put it all together 2 months ago, one day my battery dies, the controller shows yellow light charging. But it is really not I test the voltage that it is trying to charge it is zero from solar.
sure it powers light saying charging. but zero charges. I move solar still nothin’, maybe bad wiring or maybe bad solar panel. something. I suggest buying all things you need and test them right away. I got a bad one, and I m out the money. NO tech number, sure it says tech support, but it’s all lies, I search google, amazon all over for the last 2 months, I decide to call it quits, and write this bad review. I am out 65 dollars, and wasted time searching and putting it all together. I suggest trying other companies they show a tech number and have a website or something to help people, I feel this is all made up and I bought garbage. Well, lesson learns 65 dollars wasted, and over 10 hours trying to get it working and searching for help. But there is no one to help. So give up like me, and do not buy this product, and found a company that has a website and a tech number.
Can you send a new one? It never charges fast enough I think the panel is bad. I would like to try a new one. Please send to 306 Dawes st, WI 54901

This product was easy to install in my nephew’s shed. I installed this product to keep his riding lawnmower battery charging while not in use. So far it is working quite well and would definitely recommend this product.

Worked good right out of the box. I use solar panel to keep my marine batteries charged on my boat.

Update: The vendor sent me a replacement controller so everything is working perfect again. Excellent customer service!
I have been using this solar panel and controller for a few months this year. It started off working well to maintain the deep cycle battery in my camper. Then one day I found the battery was dead. I did some testing and it seems the controller stopped working. Solar panel has strong output but the controller has minimal output. Too bad because it was working well…

I have had for 4 years and it has paid for itself. I did also buy an extension so I could mount the panel in best light.

It Actually Works ; Tested 1.6 amps to dead battery ; I ordered 3 different wattage panels and this was the only one that worked as its supposed to. I=E/R ; 30 watts / 18 volts [read the description] = 1.66 amps . Follow Up : Car started up strong after sitting 8 days [2 of which were cloudy] ; without the charger battery was going stone dead in 4 days ….

I have not had the solar panel long enough to evaluate whether it can successfully maintain a 12 deep-cycle battery which powers an electric garden fence.
However: The solar panel seems heavy for the rather flimsy mounting bracket. The package arrived with only 2 mounting screws for the panel-bracket’s 3 holes; there were no screws provided to mount the controller (needs 2). The panel attaches to the mounting bracket with two small machine bolds and wing nuts. They allows the panel to be angled for sun exposure. I worry that system will be sturdy enough to withstand significant wind.

I purchased 2 of these, one for my generator and one for my boat. I have a different controller where I can monitor the actual voltage, but connect it to this panel for both uses. The panels are about a year old. They are mounted outside in the weather and have worked well. For my generator: it has kept my gel battery topped off and have strong starts every time. For the boat: It has supplied enough power to keep my 890CCA battery maintained during the winter and when the boat is not in use during the season, I have kept it plugged in and maintains a full charge. Given my boat battery is fairly big, this panel has worked fine. When I place my battery tester on it the tester confirms a 98% charge after winter. Pretty impressive considering the size of the battery and only 10W out from the panel. The panels get direct daylight for about 5 hours a day and then are in shadow. The controllers show charging still in the shadow so direct sunlight is not exactly needed but if you want to maximize your capabilities, I’d say make sure they have enough direct light for at least 1/2 of the day. Otherwise, the shade doesn’t appear to hurt it any. Cloudy days still produce a good charge. Going to purchase another soon for my father’s new generator that I am going to buy for him.
