I’m running a few Wyze cam outdoor V2 cameras. I get about 65-75 days on a charge, but it’s not convenient needing a ladder to fish them out of trees / power pole to recharge. Most of the solar panels are 2-4 watts. These say 6 watts ( I’m not able to check) but I plugged the panel into the camera on full overcast / rainy day. One camera was at 13% and another at 42%. The panels showed “charging” but of course, overcast / downpours didn’t expect much. The next day it was again overcast and the cameras came up 1% each. The following day was partly sunny after 10am. The panels are in the woods, with only late afternoon actually facing the sun. By 6pm ( dark ) the 13% camera was up to 41% the other camera is up to 67%. The construction of the panels feels very solid, with a nice mounting pad / threads. The supplied mount is well designed, but in a windy area a metal mount might be needed, but the panel has 1/4-20 threads, so any mount could be used.

I recently purchased more zumimall cameras and getting a step ladder to remove it for charging got old quick so I wanted to see if this solar panel would keep it charged and so far it has been doing a great job. Installing it and connecting to camera was easy. Just screw in the base and attach the panel. The panel already comes with a micro usb so hook up to the camera was a no brainer.
The one unknown is will it continue to provide enough power during the fall/winter months when the daylight hours are shorter and will it stand up to winter and spring winds. I hope it does.

If you have a Wyze Camera, this will save you $6 bucks over the Wyze Solar Panel, but, the seal is questionable, and the mount isn’t long enough when the solar panel is mounted at 90 degrees to the wall, so the panel must touch the wall. Also, there is no place to roll up the extra wire as on the Wyze panel. This panel IS over twice as powerful though. It puts out over an amp at 5V, so it could be used for other things too. If you have a Wyze camera, stick with the Wyze panel, but I’ll keep this one.

I don’t normally leave reviews but these things charge pretty dang quick for some 6w solar panels. I have them on the wyze outdoor cams. I put one up that’s in direct sunlight all day on a cam that was fully charged. It hasn’t wen’t below 100% since… Big whoop. I put the other up last night at dusk in an area where there’s really nowhere that isn’t covered with trees. Today has been dense cloud cover and rain. The camera was reporting 0% last night and here 12 hrs later given the circumstances, it’s already up to 20%. THis camera is constantly triggered too cause it’s where my dogs generally run around. I’d definitely reccomend these for the wyze outdoor. They have the weather proof grommet for these cams too. That’s what made me get em.

This solar panel is great to help keep my battery powered security camera up and running always fully charged. It has a micro usb, also known as usb-b, connector for your camera. The cable is nice and long so it can be mounted away from the camera a few feet. Just be sure to aim it to were the sun will be around the middle of the day. That way if it’s a cloudy morning and sunny afternoon it will still charge your battery.
