Perfect size for a medium-sized bird bath. I’ve been using continuously for nearly 8 months and it works great. I live in San Francisco, and even on cloudy days it gets enough sun to power the water flow.

Fountain would not work in our small koi pond, even when clean and in direct bright sunlight. We gave it a couple days, but still nothing.

Only works when in direct sun – no sun, no fountain. Clouds = no fountain. Then it quit just after the return date and only would spit water. I wanted to like it, but i needed something to work even on the cloudy days

It was a little challenging to assemble, even with the printed instructions. The four slits in the black foam were impossible to spot (I have poor vision), but my neighbor helped me with the final touches.
As soon as the sunshine hit the fountain, the pump action started the water spurting! Really lovely. It does not work well in shade ( not surprising.) And,9 as it is very light-weight, a stiff breeze did blow the solar fountain half out of the water, to the outer edge of the birdbath. So you do need to be aware. Still, it is a terrific product. Very enjoyable to see in action, and soothing listening to the water burble. The birds seem to like the bubbling up water spray, especially the hummingbirds.

Purchased for a diy bird bath. Works for what I needed. Does need to be in direct sun or it stops working.

The instructions are clear and easy to follow. As soon as I put the fountain together and walked with it into the sun, it automatically turned on and I could feel it vibrating. When I placed it in my birdbath, which is under an orange tree and mostly shaded, it began to spout water about six or seven inches into the air approximately once every two and-a-half seconds. So far, it is working well given the partial sunlight. IN FULL SUNLIGHT, WATER WILL CONTINUALLY SPOUT UP AT LEAST TWO FEET HIGH WITHOUT INTERRUPTION. The only question is how long will it last. I rinse and refill my birdbath daily so clogging should be minimal. So far, it IS definitely worth the money. As others have said, the more direct the sunlight, the better.

This product worked well for 3 months and then it began to develop a white film on the top. I keep my bird bath very clean and have taken the fountain in the house to clean it regularly as well. It no longer works bc it can’t get the solar charge anymore. My birds loved visiting the bird bath. I’m very sad. I’m also way past the return window and I don’t see any way to contact the seller. Maybe they will make it right. This is after about 90 days of use.
